Incinerator - Stench of Distress

INCINERATOR - Stench of Distress (Raw Skull Rekordz CD 2017)
Another fantastic release is coming from Raw Skull Rekordz. This label quickly became one of my favourite of last year and so far I loved everything they putted out. Incinerator's debut album "Stench of Distress" is no different and this fuckin crusher really caused some serious damage to my hearing, because such albums couldn't be played silently. It has to be loud and fuckin brutal! Yeah! I already knew Incinerator from their debut seven inch single "Human Garbage", which was released a couple of years ago through Wolfsbane Records. This EP was very good, but the album is even better. They surely improved everything in fine way and came up with bunch of super fantastic songs, which every old school worshipper should love. It doesn't matter if it's unoriginal or too standard. These songs kill and have such a powerful sound and riffs that your ears will bleed.
First though, I have to say that I cannot agree with label's description of this album, which says about some similarities to bands like Possessed, BathoryTerrorizerKreator and so on. I know that everybody will hear it differently and the band probably don't care at all who you compare their music to. If you like it, then it's good. Hmm, I can maybe agree about certain thrash influences, which can be spotted in the faster parts. But when played in slower tempo, Incinerator music surely has a strong Bolt Thrower, Asphyx, Pestilence (second LP) or Obituary influence. And Unleashed and Grave probably also. The trick is that Incinerator music is slightly faster., more up-tempo And I mean it's old school fast, not Nile or Krisiun fast, if you know what I mean. There's similar heaviness and brutality in the music of all these bands I mentioned earlier, similar feeling and utterly fantastic riffs, which crush every bone in your weak body. Incinerator has that as well! More so, the vocalist sound a lot like a threesome between van DrunenMameli and Hedlund haha! Would you believe what creature would be born from such trio? Haha!
Anyway, Incinerator did a great job for this album. It's one of those easily listenable and gorgeously infective records, which you like immediately and from the first listen to have your favourite songs, riffs, fragments, etc. For example the first song "At the Gates" has truly fantastic melodic part that comes together with massive slow riff. Instant boner! The last song "Swiersettiche riten" could have been picked up from albums like "Death... the Brutal Way" - it's great doomy death metal piece with fantastic harmonic parts spread all over it. What an epic ending to the whole album, really great stuff. Basically I think that Incinerator sounds the best in the slower or mid paced, moshable parts. They're really hooky and aggressive as fuck. But I cannot say anything bad about the entire album, as it’s been a pure pleasure to listen to. Check this band out then please and make sure you find all other Raw Skull Rekordz releases as well, I can assure you it's a damn perfect feast for OSDM worshippers.
Standout tracks: "Swiersettiche riten", "Slaughter", "At the Gates", "Feed the Soul", "Traumatic"
Final rate: 80/100
