DISMEMBERED FLESH MUTILATION - Necrophiliac Decomposition (PUTRID CULT - CD 2020)
Wow, I didn't see that coming. But maybe I should see that, because what else can a band named Dismembered Flesh Mutilation play? What else can an album titled "Necrophiliac Decomposition" bring? Of course, it has to be the most brutal and gory death / grind fuckin metal. Not fairy-tale power metal or shit like that. This stuff is sick, believe me. Normally I am not that big fan of that kind of brutal bands, a lot of them bore me to death. But there are always some exceptions and this is definitely one of them. Dismembered Flesh Mutilation luckily has a bit more to offer that most of bands from that style and one thing here is very important for me - DFM's music sounds incredibly powerful. When played loud, it just erupts from the speakers with the strength of horde of rhinos, destroying everything on its way with no mercy. And that's cool.
There's a good diversity on this album. Some riffs even stack in my head, doing effective damage to my brain (love that riffage from "Arnold God of Whores and Flies"), there's a lot of very fast, grinding shit, with kind of Disgorge-esque ferociousness. I always prefer slower parts (Which are the best riffs on "Symphonies of Sickness"? All those slow ones haha), Dismembered Flesh Mutilation doesn't have too many of them, but when they appear, the music always gets that pure, old school death metal feel, with vomiting, sick vocals attached to it. Songs are obviously short (only two are over three minutes long), which is something normal for that kind of music, I believe - well, would anyone imagine ten or fifteen minutes long explosion of gore in one song on such album? That would be fun, but here you will just find short, straight forward and concrete brutal hits of an axe right in the arse. You will get Mortician cover somewhere there also... All in all, very cool album, I enjoyed its brutal, ferocious sound... Can’t complain on anything. And take a look at that sick artwork in the booklet. Nice work.
